The Stretch Run Is On
With only a few weeks remaining in the 2026 regular season, the standings and individual award races are beginning to tighten. Teams near the top have been watching the standings closely, particularly in Hercules, where the lead has shifted during the late-season push.
Keep Their Heads Ringin’ went 2–1 in Week 15 to move to 29–16, while Whole Lotta Pitches went 1–2 and sits just behind at 28–17. The race has taken on added importance since Whole Lotta Pitches lost the top spot during the week Jake Dupree was unavailable.
Wayne Gomes Makes His Presence Felt
Steel the Point received a major boost from substitute Wayne Gomes, who is filling in for Tom Wolfe during a three-week absence for a family wedding. Wayne was selected as the A-player replacement for the full stretch to give Larry a consistent partner.
After showing some rust in his first week back, Wayne responded in a big way in Week 15 with 45 points, 11 ringers and a double, helping Steel the Point go 2–1 against Whole Lotta Pitches. His bounce-back performance had an impact beyond that matchup, influencing both the team standings and the developing individual award races.
DeBurgo Continues to Rise
Keith DeBurgo delivered another encouraging performance for Precious Cargo, scoring 44 points with 10 ringers and two doubles in a 2–1 week against Orbital Bombardment.
DeBurgo has been playing especially well recently and has begun adding doubles to an already promising season. If that progress continues, his performance could put him in position to move into the A-player group next season, depending on how the championship and offseason classifications play out.
Individual Award Races Tighten
The individual races are also becoming a major part of the final weeks. Sean Gomes has been making a strong push for the Scoring Championship and scored 41 points in Week 15, keeping him narrowly ahead of Casey Santos in the season scoring race.
Todd Andrews remains right in the middle of several categories as well, including a pursuit of another Doubles Championship—an award category in which he has historically excelled—while facing multiple challengers down the stretch.
Earlier in the season, Santos appeared positioned to challenge for several of the league’s major individual honors, including a possible Triple Crown and Best Record. As the season has progressed, however, Sean, Todd and other contenders have surged, creating a much tighter group of races heading toward September. That late movement should make the final weeks about much more than playoff positioning.
Around Week 15
Not Fast, Just Furious continued its strong season with a 3–0 sweep of Dark Horse, improving to 31–14. Todd Andrews led the way with 42 points and 13 ringers, while Ed MacNeil added 37 points.
Between the changing conference standings, productive substitute performances, emerging players and increasingly competitive award races, Week 15 helped set the stage for what should be an eventful finish to the 2026 regular season.
